Use and addaption of data on splitscreen

Bericht door shauky »

I have recently installed the latest software (MO5712) for my PC5400 system and subsequently introduced the supercode
Everything is working fine. When I'm now selecting the screens, there is one extra splitscreen that I did not have before.
On the righthand side there appears a screen with 4 symbols viz.
.... km/h, which is obviously the speed. the next three ones are indicated in, Km/h (Average speed?) a clock symbol in hrs, and a car symbol on a higway? in km. (distance traveled?)
How do I reset the latter three values? The latest manual does not give a solution, and also the helpdesk of VDO/Dayton
could not give me an indication.
Who is able to help me out.
regards.

Shauky

You probably mean the split screen function as displayed below. However it really surprises me that this occurs on the 5400. I was under the impression it was only available on the 5200/5600/5700 computers. But I could be wrong here. You have used the MO5712 update disc I gather but the 5400 will be updated to SW 9.8 which is on the same disc.
This phenomenum is one of the "goodies" you get when updating to the latest software.
In the Setting Menu you can select Display-Map display-split screen functions. You are give 4 choices for split screen displays and the one as displayed below is the tripcomputer setting activated.
You have undoubtedly noticed that repeated presses of the navigate button on the RC will change the chart display.

Indeed, with the 5712/5598 you have an extra screen at your disposal. It's quite handy, as it also indicates the actual speed, which under certain circumstances is pleasant
You can reset it in the Main Menu at Computer in the upperright corner.
In Gerritjes case with the 5200, when I am right this is done automatically when you start the computer, with the 5400 and higher you have to reset this manually, which I prefer.

That's better, thus :D
When the 5200 was introduced, it was stated that this resetting would be done at each start. So either this was a wrong statement, or with a later SW-Update this has been rectified.

There are in fact 2 Trip computer screens:
  • one split screen that was discussed above
  • one screen that is selected from the start menu
Only the screen that is selected from the startup menu is not automatically reset, the other is reset when the unit is switched off

Further to earlier statements:
After checking on a PC5600 system, the split screen function is predefined in the software and cannot be altered at will as with the 5200 series.
The trip computer in the split screen on the 5600 (I expect the 5400 to function simularly) is not reset on shut down.
