MFD DVD - connecting my Ipod

I have just bought a 2007 VW EOS fitted with MFD DVD radio, sat nav and 6 CD player.
Can I connect my Ipod to play through the unit?

Yes you can!
You will require a simple aux-in lead connecting to the AV connector in the back of the unit.
The unit must be set to AUX and the playback of the iPod will be through the system.
However there is absolutely no way of showing ID3 tags on the screen or even the remotest possibility of controlling ypur iPod with the unit's buttons

The other possibility is a rather expensive dual input interface that connects boths the CDC and the iPod leads and offers you the choice between either ione of the sources by means of a selector switch

My car does not have an output socket fitted.
Do VW offer this as a spare part so that I can upgrade my system?

I did not mention any output socket as far as I can tell.
VW offers complete solutions but in all instances they will not work together with the CDC

The solutions I mentioned are only available from a wide range of suppliers as aftermarket products

I am still confussed and will go to see my local car audio company and see if they have an AUX in lead
