How to set up a PC5200 from scratch ?

Hello all,

I need to reinstall my system from new.

Reason: A meanwhile ago I've already lost all the icons on the screen for eg. fuelstations and so on. Now, after installing the newest card database I've also lost my speed camera warning, did cost me some money last week in Austria

I think this has something to do with the system software - therefore I want to start now from beginning again.

What do I have to do ?

The dvd containing the card database also contains the software for the system.
You'll need a 2Gb sd card and install the software from the dvd on the card.
This card must be inserted in the pc, slot 1 if I recall correctly, and then you can update/refresh the firmware of the pc5200

The system software is not on the DVD, only the voic files
You will have to download the latest 2.90 Software from http://www.vdodayton.com/sycomax/uis/me ... 90prod.zip

You are right. The original DVD's 2006/2007 did not include the SW update on the DVD
However, there is no provision on the DVD for the 5200Pro which requires the 5.90 Software
Dieter already hads the 2.90 version and the DVD 2009/2010 Navteq also includes this SW version
