Adding POIs to 5200

Hello all,

is there a possibility to add any POIs to the PC 5200 system ?

Reason for my question is
- I'll keep my PC 5200 for the next few years
- in the new card files there is no POI warner for Ausria included
- there is no POI warner for Germany available

I'm intending to buy a new cardevrsion soon (today I'm using Navteq 06/07) - any suggestions are welcome.

Are you sure that no "Blitzer" are available on the Card for Austria?
For D and Suisse it is known, the laws are giving some restrictions to use these.
And to my knowledge, nobody has found a way to properly implement the Blitzer from another source. I know that some people in D are working on that, but no results are reported yet.

Hi JW,

in my old 06/07 version the Blitzers for A and CH are included, but having a look at the current Teleatlas HP, there are no more "dangerous POIs" included. Don't know about Navteq, there is no information available.
Additionally, the "mobile POIs" I'd like have them included, too.

The only information about including POIs is the thread form Jewuwa about the usage of the Aral-Tankstellenwarner and an PN I got once from TomB regarding some solutions which may have been forund here in your forum....but that was never working on my system.

Yes, I had seen that on the TA page as well, but I am not sure whether this is correct.
Hopefully Gerritje is reading this posting as well, he might have additional information.

As to the mobile Blitzer, these are made available in NL via TMC by some commercial stations . Such a service does not exist in Germany. Oder doch?

Indeed,

no haven't seen that in Germany....
I'm about 100.000km/year on the road in D and A and need something reliable to count on.

On the 2006/2007 editions of Navteq and TA there were still speedcamera-POI's for Switzerland
Austria was and is still listed and German speedcams were never available for the 5200

Yes, you can get a notification if you wish.
Go to "Profile", there you'll find it under "Preferences" >>> "Privacy choices"

A PM should also automically generate an Email notification
Profile-privacy choices-Email notification on private messsages

Found the problem:

The message regarding PMs has been sorted out by my SPAM-Filter it's working now
