TomTom Plans to Acquire Tele Atlas for EU2 Billion in Cash

July 23 (Bloomberg) -- TomTom NV, the world's largest maker of car navigation devices, intends to buy Tele Atlas NV, the world's second-largest maker of maps, for about 2 billion euros ($2.77 billion) in cash.
TomTom will offer 21.25 euros per Tele Atlas share, Den Bosch, Netherlands-based Tele Atlas said in a statement distributed by Hugin. The supervisory and management boards of Tele Atlas support the offer, the statement said.
