Problem connecting MIO and smartphone using USB cable

Hi I need help. I cannot figure out a solution for my challenging problem. If I connect my MIO Cyclo 500 navigation device to my old Samsung Tab using a USB cable, then all 2 folders on the MIO can be accessed (mio_system and mio_data) from the tab. But if connect the same navigation device via USB cable to my brand new Samsung smartphone (note9) then I can only see 1 folder (mio_system). The same is true for my Samsung S7. Again, from my old Samsung Tab I can see and can access both folders. I used different file explorers and made them show hidden files. Still the folder (mio_data) is not visible. Please help. Thanks!
