Navigation Technologies, a leading provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation, Internet/wireless applications and business solutions, now offers its customers a detailed map of the Spanish island of Mallorca. In a coordinated 12-hour effort that took place in the middle of November, a team of over 70 Navigation Technologies' field analysts drove every road in Mallorca to complete a detailed map of the island.

The full coverage map includes approximately 2,486 miles (4,000 kilometers) of roadway, over 160,000 private addresses and 36 local authorities. Each road segment features up to 160 attributes - such as Mallorquin street names, address ranges, turn restrictions, and speed limits - that help people efficiently route to their destinations. The map also provides comprehensive details on close to 1,200 points of interest (POIs) in approximately 40 categories such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations, tourist attractions and beaches. By the end of November, the field analysts had incorporated all of the road network data they had collected into the NAVTECH database for further quality assurance checks prior to finalizing the detailed map.
